In his memoir, "Then It Fell Apart," which debuted on May 2, Moby dishes on his alleged past romances with Natalie Portman and Christina Ricci, as well as Lana Del Rey, whom he briefly dated in 2006. But during an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK that hit the Internet on May 21, the "Black Swan" actress denied that she and the chart-topper were ever an item, saying that when she knew him, she saw him as "a much older man being creepy with me when I just had graduated high school." Natalie went on to say that she'd been a fan of his music and that they "hung out a handful of times before I realized that this was an older man who was interested in me in a way that felt inappropriate." The day after her interview landed, Moby took to Instagram to shoot down her denial, writing that he and Natalie "did, in fact, date" and that he couldn't understand "why she would actively misrepresent the truth about our (albeit brief) involvement." Then on May 25, Moby apologized, writing in a long Instagram post that "it was truly inconsiderate of me to not let her know about her inclusion in the book beforehand, and equally inconsiderate for me to not fully respect her reaction."
